Heidelberg, 1806. -quite a substantial 198 page book denouncing Gall vehemently from perspective of Naturphilosophie. This so infuriated Gall that it brought about his only published response to a critic while on his lecture tour. See: Gall, 1806.

One of the main instruments leading phrenology back to Germany. This work was extremely successful in 19th century Germany. Pückler was an enthusiastic phrenologist and the work contains many amusing anecodotes including a visit to and reading by Deville in 1827. Available in English translation.
